Bear and Moon

Cavin carved the bear in yew wood which is his favorite wood to carve. It grows here in the NW in Old Growth Forests. The carving was  molded and then cast in bronze. The grizzly bear is making a comeback in the west with its protected status. This pose evokes a tamer side to its persona. It looks good hanging by itself or framed with patinaed brass plate as shown.
